BÉTON BRUT

Client: School

Year: 2007

What: Identity branding

The brief for this project was pretty strange. We first had to design a typeface and then create a whole company based on that. I had created a very mechanic typeface called Morthens.

I ended up designing an identity for Béton brut which is a music label. It was based around the idea of a ranking system where people got to higher ranks when they collected a dark square which was to be found in every Béton brut product.

It also had a twist. The artwork of every product would remain hidden until people bought it and opened it. On the reversed side appeared the actual artwork.

A standard look that people see when they buy the product.
The album cover is unfolding and you can see the actual artwork. The fancy dark square is also visable.
Front and back of the actual album cover artwork.
